This family session was such a unique experience, and honestly one of those days that reminds me how much magic can come from a little unpredictability. The rain rolled in early and just… stayed. It wasn’t dramatic or stormy, just that steady, lingering drizzle that makes you rethink all your plans. We ended up making a last‑minute location change, hoping to find something workable — and somehow we stumbled onto the perfect spot. It had so much visual interest, and it sat right in this tiny pocket of calm between all the passing showers. I’m pretty sure it was the only place in the area that wasn’t getting drenched.
What made this family session even more meaningful was knowing how special this moment was for them. They had traveled all the way from Australia to visit family here in the U.S., and they weren’t sure when they’d all be together again. There was no extra day to reschedule, no backup plan waiting in the wings. This was the moment, rain or shine, and we were determined to make it work.
So we got a little creative, embraced the weather, and leaned into the relaxed, go‑with‑the‑flow energy of the day. And in the end, everything came together beautifully. The laughter, the closeness, the little in‑between moments — it all felt so genuine. Sometimes the sessions that start out the most uncertain end up being the ones that stay with you the longest.
