Katherine’s newborn session was such a joy to create — the kind of session that feels playful from the very start. I’ve done plenty of beach‑themed setups over the years, but this was my first time leaning into sea turtle vibes. I didn’t have an actual turtle prop on hand and definitely didn’t have time to whip one up, so I had to get a little inventive… and honestly, I think the creativity paid off. The whole setup came together in the cutest way.
One of my favorite parts was finally getting to use my stash of seashells and coral — little treasures I’ve collected over the years, always waiting for the perfect moment. Seeing them tucked around her tiny form made the whole scene feel like a dreamy little tide pool, soft and whimsical.
I had one more setup planned, something I was really excited about, but Katherine had her own ideas about how the rest of the newborn session should go. She decided she was done and wasn’t settling back in before our time wrapped up — and that’s just how it goes sometimes with these tiny bosses. That last idea is officially on my to‑do list for the next family who wants those beachy, coastal vibes.
