Dunia and her son met me out at Navarre Beach on a very blustery morning for their family session, and the wind definitely made its presence known right from the start. But if you know Navarre, you know that a little extra breeze doesn’t take away from its charm one bit. The beaches there are truly something special—soft, white sand, endless open shoreline, and that gorgeous water that seems to glow no matter what the sky is doing.
Even with the wind whipping around us, we embraced it and made it part of the experience rather than fighting against it. Flowing hair, movement in their clothing, and those candid in-between moments all added such a natural, storytelling element to their images. We took our time finding the best angles, using the light and the landscape to our advantage, and adjusting as needed with each gust that came through.
What really stood out, though, was the connection between Dunia and her son. There was so much warmth, laughter, and genuine affection between them that it completely overshadowed any challenges from the weather. They leaned into the moment, enjoying the time together, and that made the session feel effortless and full of life. By the end, it didn’t even feel like we had “braved” anything—it just felt like a beautiful morning spent capturing a meaningful bond in a place that never disappoints.
